Canada World Youth and IDW 2014
As a part of International Development Week 2014, from February 2nd – 8th, Canada World Youth is hosting a series of events across Canada to explore how we as Canadians, and citizens of the world, are working together to make a difference! These events aim to raise public awareness of the important contributions that youth and community members are making to development work at home and internationally.

“Engaged in Change: Engaging youth in development of their communities.”
Canada World Youth (CWY) engages members of the Vancouver community in a discussion on the role youth play in the development of their communities. Through an exchange with youth and youth engagement advocates, CWY Alumni, guest panelists and members of the public will examine the impact and benefits of youth engagement, highlighting the capacity of youth to lead innovative projects that help build more resilient communities worldwide.

If you happen to be on the Simon Fraser University Campus from February 4th to 6th, keep an eye out between 12pm and 3pm for the CWY Student Network Group of SFU who will be out raising awareness about HIV and AIDS, while raising funds for an overseas project in Honduras. Learn more…

“We are Making a Difference!” – Message from the President and CEO, Rita S. Karakas, for International Development Week 2014.
It is with great enthusiasm and pride that we celebrate International Development Week 2014 and the central theme “We are Making a Difference!”.
Our International Development Week (IDW) 2014 celebrations include a full week of youth lead and youth oriented events across Canada. These events will focus on the amazing community development initiatives led by our international partners and supported by our youth volunteers. We will also highlight several initiatives that demonstrate the dedication and strength of all community leaders everywhere who are striving to better their communities.
