CWY working with Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC)

As a sub-contractor within Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC)’s Preventing Irregular Child Migration in Central America (PICMCA) project, CWY will be working closely with project partners, CCFC, ChildFund International and Educo to strengthen youth participation and engagement in the project activities.

PICMCA is designed to improve the well-being of children and youth (boys and girls, men and women) ages 6-24 who are at risk of irregular migration in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

CWY will leverage its expertise in youth engagement and youth-centred approaches to  develop and deliver orientation, training and support to youth, staff and partners, which will deepen the participation and integration of young women and young men (age 15 -24) into project implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning.

guatemalaOn Sunday June 25th Fabienne Pierre-Jacques, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation and Vlad  Gomez, Project Officer, traveled to Guatemala to attend a week-long meeting to develop the Project Implementation Plan. Vlad Gomez is presently undertaking visits to the five country offices to carry out a needs and situation analysis in order to adjust CWY timeline and deliverables for year 1; including the development of training workshop for country offices and other community stakeholders, recruitment and selection of youth participants for the community safety audits, monitoring and evaluation youth groups, and participation in the first Youth Conference planned for March 2018.

PICMCA  is funded through the contribution of Global Affairs Canada.
