Canada World Youth Launches the 2012 Leadership Awards

Montreal, October 3, 2011 ‐ Canada World Youth (CWY) is pleased announce the launch of its Leadership Awards recognizing innovative change makers from around the world.

The organization will be awarding three Leadership Awards to youth who have demonstrated high levels of achievement and involvement in their community. The awards will honour the actions and innovative thinking of youth who have taken a leadership role in initiatives that promotes peace, intercultural understanding, community and international development. Through these prestigious Awards, Canada World Youth recognizes outstanding young leaders’ involvement in transforming communities, while making a direct contribution to the achievement of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.

The Canada World Youth Leadership Awards will offer each of the three laureates a cash prize of $3,000 which can be used in support of the cause or the project of a non‐profit organization of their choice.

The laureates will share their experience, inspiring youth leaders and their communities to mobilize for change to make our world a better place.
