Karakas, President & CEO of Canada World Youth (CWY), received international partners, and met with youth volunteers, CWY Alumni, and the public in Montreal.

The event served as an opportunity to learn about the new initiatives at Canada World Youth, including the new Aboriginal Youth Program. Aboriginal youth represent over 20% of participants in CWY programs. International partner representatives from Bénin, Ghana, Honduras, Indonésie, Kenya, Nicaragua, Pérou, Ukraine and Vietnam were present at the event, to engage with CWY Alumni and the public, sharing their stories of impact, community engagement, knowledge, and youth experience from around the world.

“Mutually-beneficial and respectful partnerships have been a central element of CWY’s programs since the organization was founded in 1971,” said President and CEO of CWY, Ms. Rita S. Karakas. “We are pleased to be receiving our partners in Canada and to share with them, and the public, our new initiatives and the great work accomplished by our youth in Canada and abroad.
